The Shetland Sheepdog Club of Southeast Florida, Inc. was founded by a few devoted Sheltie enthusiasts in April of 1968.
Originally called the Shetland Sheepdog Club of Greater Miami, Inc., the name was changed in 1990 to better reflect the growing membership from the tri-county area. This remains true today, with the majority of the membership being composed of people from Miami-Dade, Broward, and Palm Beach counties.
Besides holding AKC-sanctioned specialty shows, obedience trials, and rally trials, we strive to bring out all the qualities our lovely breed has to offer and have fun while we do.
Most of our club members actively show their shelties in conformation shows, obedience trials, agility trials, rally trials, herding events, and participate in community projects, such as pet therapy.
